Part Time Inpatient Telephonic Staff Pharmacist (Evenings / Overnight)

Job Overview

The remote, work from home part-time staff pharmacist provides telepharmacy services to multiple hospital clients across various states.

This role enhances clinical team performance, supports quality patient care, and ensures safe and compliant medication practices. This part-time position includes evenings, overnight and on-call shifts.

Job Description

You are expected to work at least 1-2 shifts every 2 weeks. Multiple shifts available and will be discussed in interview, but consist of evenings, overnight, and weekends.

Responsibilities: Telepharmacy Perform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling. Support multiple clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems (PIS).

Clinical Excellence Provide proactive clinical pharmacy services and adhere to all client -specific and Cigna policies.

Deliver drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including dosing adjustments, interactions, compatibilities, and infusion guidance. Maintain working knowledge of IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more.

Understand considerations for special populations (pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, renal/hepatic impairment, HIV). Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use. Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours.

Operational Excellence Learn and work in multiple hospital pharmacy systems. Obtain and maintain multiple state pharmacist licenses. Document orders, interventions, and recommendations in system by end of shift.

• Active and in good standing pharmacist license (PA and/or OH) Additional state licenses preferred (MA, RI, DE, ME, NH, CT) At least 2+ years of inpatient hospital experience preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated customer service skills Knowledge of formulary management and P&T procedures Familiarity with client/server applications Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email Overnight inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred Hospital residency is preferred but not required Board certification is preferred but not required If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

• in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.

• For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 54 - 91 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
